Not my life to live

This morning as I spent some time with God, I was brought to a chapter of Luke. Luke 3 speaks of the way that is prepared by John for Jesus. I was also directed to Genesis 1 focusing on the verses talking about our likeness that is created in His image.

The words '... not my life to live..' keeps lingering in my mind.

We are asked to live a life that is to serve Him, we as believers need to recognized the importance of who we are and what we are called to do. verse 8 of Luke 3 warns of a life that needs to show fruit, in ways of a repenting heart, for pride of the calling to be believers is not enough. If we do not live the life that He calls, He could easily raise up followers from ANYWHERE, ANYHOW, ANYTHING... to do His work.

In His image we were created and called to rule over the earth and take care of it, this includes His precious creation... mankind. I am not living my own life doing what I want and what I desire anymore, and even though very often I lose myself in it... I have to bring myself into a constant reminder that I am living for a very different purpose and this purpose comes from Him.

I have fears and worries and desires and all of it as legitimate it may be, compares palely to the purpose that I am set forth to do in this life. If I do not live this life for Him, I will be discarded and replaced by someone else that will be more faithful... such is a message warned in Luke 3, and the rest of the scripture; for only those who does the will of the Father(Matt 7:21).
