Mission on My Mind

Finding evidence of my claims...

I was reading an article a few days back, describing someone that is mission minded. There were several points in identifying someone that has mission on their mind and much of these criteria are far from who I am.

Sad to say that this is rather disappointing that I do not fit in to the mold or characteristics of a man on a mission for God. I could easily argue for the the unique situation that I am in at the moment where it portrays more of a transitional state than to fully describe me as a person. However, a transitional state is no excuse for the lack of some of these characteristics and habits that I am suppose to have.

There are only 2 possible reasons for my current circumstance. First is that I need to identify if God has given me a very specific forte that is called to be missional a more unconventional way. Seemingly where my approach in evangelizing and spreading the Gospel comes out in a different way. This can be dangerous in such that I maybe be essentially giving conditions to my methods of being missional, and not fully rely on the nature that God calls for the furtherance of His kingdom by any means. Less I forget that I may have already taken the stance of Jonah; who has set conditions for the citizens Nineveh on God's forgiving grace.

The second reason is that the article is weighing heavily on a cliche perspective that is commonly found by someone that is rather extreme and obvious in their lifestyle. Even though I have to agree on the characteristics describing a person being missional, there is also the element that the article may also be subtly setting forth conditions just as  in my first reason. Because God can and will use anything He wants to fulfill his purpose in furthering His kingdom, as long as there is a spirit of willingness in us.

All being said, I still need to be intentional about building up my character that reflects someone that is mission minded. Not just for the sake of playing a role but to truly find an underlying genuine intention to make the Gospel known by all around me.
