Identify Your Gratitude
There is no escaping this idea since these recent few years that God calls for us to be aware of who He really is even before stepping into His ministry.
The gospel should be the quintessential of our belief. There are so many faucets in the church to which are important but not as important than the fact that God has done the ultimate so that we are all freed to be in the right position to do everything else that we are called to.
Problem in the church today is that we are pursuing in such a way as if there is much required of us to obtain the favor of God. We know this fact but yet subconsciously we continue to live this way. We partake the pursuit of holiness in keeping up with what we see holiness needs to be but we do not pursue holiness because its the most wonderful thing to us.
The problem of pursuit without the gospel is that we will come to a halt at any obstacles. We get held back by our careers, our academics, our family, our relationships, our hobbies, or just by our simple human weariness that comes from a longing for satisfaction.
But when the gospel is truly understood, that we have been given more than we expected, we have been redeemed by favor beyond our control, and recognizing the gospel for what it really is will only result in a sense of gratitude and appreciation; the very source of momentum and motivation for what crazy things we are willing to do for God.
