Perfect Love

A few years back for an evangelistic event, I was asked to sing this song as the main song for the evening. Much to the stress that came from the event and having to practice through so very often this very song, I have passed it so very blindly the depth of the song and how it reflected on me and my perspective of love. Even as love is described in so many ways, there is such a love that is ever giving, protecting, serving and being. From it we derive how we show love to people around us.

We are all shaped by the love we experience in this life and it reflects on how we love on others. Love in itself has become confused by those who do not understand it, not because it is complicated, but rather simply because it is limited and skewed by imperfect love.

I am reminded and thus, reminding those around me to allow God to shape our understanding of it where fear is not present.

I know you've heard the stories
But they all sound too good to be true
You've heard about a place called home
But there doesn't seem to be one for you
So one more night you cry yourself to sleep
And drift off to a distant dream

Where love takes you in and everything changes
A miracle starts with the beat of a heart
When love takes you home and says you belong here
The loneliness ends and a new life begins
When love takes you in

And somewhere while you're sleeping
Someone else is dreaming too
Counting down the days until
They hold you close and say I love you
And like the rain that falls into the sea
In a moment what has been is lost in what will be

When love takes you in everything changes
A miracle starts with the beat of a heart

And this love will never let you go
There is nothing that could ever cause this love to lose its hold

When love takes you in everything changes
A miracle starts with the beat of a heart
When love takes you home and says you belong here
The loneliness ends and a new life begins
When love takes you in it takes you in for good
When love takes you in
