Pseudo-history

The greener side beckons my conscience...

We tend to like to look at our neighbors and see how much of a better life they are living in. We can easily find desirable aspects to envy over others simply because it is a novelty to what we ourselves did not go through.

As I go through pictures of someone else's past and find how exciting it is with the things that they have experienced, I often wondered to myself if my life was just as exciting. What do I actually have to show for?

I grow up with a world of my own imagination and found life in the ideals of my mind. The problem with that is despite how awesome my imagination is, my reality is still not what I hope things to be and I often run away into my own world to find refuge.

Today, I am discovering first hand some of these experience life brings, but at a later age of my life. Like an old man who is now only living out childhood, I often find that I am now seeing what it is to be like a teenager and understand why my friends did the things they did when I was younger.

By no means that I shunned my childhood or teenage years but I do wonder at times if I were to let go of my intensity and just be a kid like everyone else, how would life turned out for me?
