1 John 4:7 says:
Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God.
Everyone who loves has been born of God.
I was talking to someone yesterday about how I am convinced to see goodness in people and finding God in them. My faith in people do not stem from them saying the right things or doing the right acts on the surface but more from the underlining intentions that reflects Godliness.
With that, I begin to ponder on the fact that many people tend to focus on themselves a lot, especially their weakness and flaws to the point that they get preoccupied to notice the nature of God in them; which is fueled by the Holy Spirit. Romans 5:6-8 talks about God making a point that it has nothing to do with our brokenness but everything to do with His grace. If we keep thinking how lowly and sinful we are then forever we will be dwelling in that melancholic manner of perspective and we would fail to see and embrace the unconditional love that God needs us to see.
So I am reminded about the very same way about myself in how I get too preoccupied about my own insecurities. Someone dear to me came to mind in reminding me about God's love. I am a person that takes the issue of being poor as a matter to my life. Even as I have come to peace with knowing that I will never be financially rich, I do falter from time to time thinking how would people love me and find security in me if I cannot provide for them. But she has reminded me that money was never an issue for her and that she loves me for who I am and its not until I learn to let go of my insecurities and focus on her grace to love me even when I have no money was such a reminder that God always want us to know that He loves us despite of our conditions.
She has shown me love and reflected a love that God gives. For this I am convinced that the Spirit is in her and has been born of God. For this is one of the ways I find confidence and see hope and goodness in anyone that has professed their faith in Jesus.
