Proverbs 4:23

Father,

Fill voids that only You can fill
My lingering heart is adulterous within
I seek refuge in the commons
And just branded it with Your name

My heart is viscous with desire
But comes from no foundation
Like weeds in the windy fields
It claims its own direction

My mind is forgiving
Yet not to my own
I pour out compassion freely
But sets my heart in prison

To what I have become
A product of what I let it be
For what is left unprotected
Comes forth what people see

Even as I claim wisdom
But to what only I perceive
But without You as my guide
Is to only let my heart deceive

So bind them on my forehead
My fingers and the tablet of my heart
Season it in my actions and words
So from You I will never depart

In Jesus' name
Amen
