New York City

Casey has managed to capture millions in his story telling but more than anything else that I come to affirm is his lens of what he sees when he sees New York City. It is a spectacle that such a location can bring up life that no other place can. The mix and seclusion that carries character is one of the the major factor that draws attention and excitement.

No one place is without flaws and problems. In fact, as great as a city can be, it is as great as the ugliness that rampant through this jungle of 8 millions calling this home. What is often unmentioned but true to so many stories is that there is a blending of refuge in great crowds. This is a place where you can hide but feel inclusive at the same time. Here we can easily find some of the loneliest people in the world and yet they seek no other alternatives of a place to move away, simply because the presence of life is so approximately close to one another that people feed of such presence.

My time here in this city has brought about things about myself that I have been surprise, and so to say that God used this city to bring these things out. More than just the good but also the bad starts to surface from what is within me. So just as I come to hone great discoveries and new capabilities from within me, so are new challenges and ugliness that arise to push my limits.

There are countless of things happening within such a small 15 mile radius and even if you do not get involve with a single thing, a mere presence can recreate a sense of participation. A person can walk the streets of New York City and be captured by the spirit of the city just by the the sights and sounds. And I have affirmed to such an experience as I walk down the same streets day after day and find myself refreshed by things that I cannot explain.

My love for New York City is a bitter sweet experience and yet it keeps a suspends to a over the fence inclination to say whether I want to remain in this city. The city is a hard place to live and survive, but it speaks of so much hope and captures millions of lives, and drawing more as time passes.
