The Word

I am amazed by the grace of God that speaks forth from His word. I am amazed by how the little things that through circumstances that are happening around me, I get the ever reaching arms of God covering me with His grace. But more than just grace itself, but also assurance.

This assurance at many perspectives and it affirms my heart of how the word of scripture pops out the reality of my situation. The word of God is said to be like a double edged sword that pierces through the bones and marrow, it reveals our weaknesses and also convicts us of our sins. More than just a conviction, it also ought to change us.

I used to seek scripture for the sole purpose to find comfort alone, but today I no longer just find comfort but a darting jolt that urges me to do something about my conviction. The beauty of God's conviction is that it supports itself throughout scripture, it covers all aspects of our personal life. From the revelations of my sins, it can come full circle to love and forgive others... and everything is backed by what I read in scripture.

My confidence is found in His word. The more I read of it, the more I find conviction and affirmation. It paints reality better and clearer than I can ever imagine. From the good and the bad of all situations, I am convinced once again about the need to study scripture so much more to find ourselves hearing from God.
