I feel old...

Once a while I would go on Spotify and try discovering new songs as I look for new releases. Then there are channels described to be hits. Funny thing is that I end up being disappointed with the selections. I would go through them one by one, giving it a chance to win me over by somehow I found it hard to finish any of those songs because I simply cannot appreciate them.

More than just a melody that wins my favor of a song but rather the idea and message that goes behind it. And I must say that I have never felt like so many new songs that I have come across are simply stupid. They are stupid in the perspective of their shallow and unintelligent lyrics, as well as cliche beats and sound effects.

I know that music is a very aesthetic subject and everyone is entitled to their preferences. But it does however tells of an understanding of a generation that speak their minds so freely and their true nature is so vividly found in the songs that they relate to. I think that more than just the music itself, but rather the generation that appreciate them is what concerns me at this matter. There is a direction of pursuit that many young people are going at today that is disturbing and my bafflement is that what on earth are parents or guardians are doing about this.

Maybe I have come to a moment that I have found a threshold of what is scriptural essential things and everything beyond my generation is something that i cannot comprehend or even tolerate much anymore.
