Today I had the privileged to meet Peter Scazzero in person. So much talk that has been about him even before I came to seminary. Adding to it was that I read an amazing book form him that revealed so much about myself.
Today even as he pretty much gave only a brief testimony about how he got to where he is at this church we were in. It has been an eye opener to some of the things that are missing in life, in church and in our walk with God. Peter spoke with such transparency about his struggles with bringing the church together and how the ministry even cost his marriage.
From living out a personal life to church, there is no division. We only live one life, and it is not separated by secularism or spiritualism. In the words of Peter himself, he said:"we pay you to rest away with God." These are some of the things that he requires his staff to do. Staff members are needed to go away for a day once in a month to relax and enjoy, in hope to recuperate from the busyness of life in New York City.
