In 10 minutes, I can shower and get dressed for school
In 10 hours, I can write a 10 page paper
In 10 days, I can develop a full fledged system and program for any ministry event
In 10 weeks, I can learned a whole new concept of theology enough to teach to others
In 10 months, I can learn a whole new cuisine enough to showcase it to those who don't know
In 10 years...
In 10 years, I have done all that I have mentioned and so much more. More importantly what I have accomplished and learned. And out of that learning, what kind of person I am left to become with all those experiences.
10 years ago from today(23rd December), I embarked on a journey that was ever so uncertain. I left a big part of my life behind to move on to another that is ever so foreign to me. Today is my 10th year anniversary of being away from home and to dwell in a land of finding myself. I recently read a book by Donald Capps, called the The Decades of Life, where it talks about the development of each individual according to every 10 years.
Thinking back, the last 10 years has been a journey that has never kept me slumbering. I have been through depression, I have been through heartbreaks, I have been through discovery, I have been through losses, I have been through long awaited successes, I have been through deep sins, I have been through relief, I have been through desperation, I have been through rejection, I have been through revival, I have been through pain, I have been through surprises, I have been through love, I have been through regrets and shame, I have been through comfort, I have been through betrayal, I have been through disloyalty, I have been through foolishness, I have been through thanksgiving, I have been through friendships, I have been through spiritual battles, I have been through harmony and unity, I have been through generosity, I have been through charity, I have been through insults, I have been through envy, I have been through dishonor, I have been through hypocrisy, I have been through redemption, I have been through failure, I have been through favor, I have been through holiness, I have been through lust, I have been through dishonesty, I have been through surrender, I have been through forgiveness, I have been through family, I have been through enemies, I have been through alienation, I have been through suppression, I have been through falsehood, I have been through fantasy, I have been through dryness, I have been through jealousy, I have been through reward, I have been through recognition, I have been through completion, I have been through abandonment, I have been through mercy, I have been through promises, I have been through sanctification, I have been through pride, I have been through renewal, I have been through providence, I have been through blessings, I have been through support, I have been through let down, I have been through memories, I have been through tears, I have been through bondage, I have been through worship, I have been through laughter, I have been through faith, I have been through fear, I have been through giving up, I have been through perseverance, I have been through creativity, I have been through productivity, I have been through joy, I have been through diversity, I have been through culture, I have been through darkness, I have been through inspiration, I have been through embrace, I have been through reflection, I have been through blindness, I have been through peace, I have been through worship, I have been through compassion, I have been through sympathy, I have been through change, I have been through life.
